Framing and trades



The framing is completed enough for the plumbers and electricians to make progress. The window bucks are installed and passed inspection. The windows are in town and after a few more adjustments to the bucks, are ready to be installed. The trusses and roof sheathing are on, waiting inspection.

Forming for the final concrete is ready and the metal will be ready to be inspected by Thursday.

The last rows of blocks for the parting wall are up and the final forming for the cap beams will start next week. The metal stud wall is close to finished.

Inspection partially passes and work proceeds


The forming and metal work was satisfactory to the inspector but a new, unannounced requirement to have a spot survey reviewed through the city before the inspection can pass. That is processing while we go ahead and close up the forms ready for the pour. This will be an extensive pour, 90+ cubic yards of concrete doing the columns, tie beams, second floor slab and stairs all at once. We are hoping for Thursday

Ready for forming the slab


The plumbing and electrical work undergrade is done and inspected. The next step is final leveling and compacting. Then termite protection, plastic and mesh to get ready for slab inspection.

Waiting for the City


The long wait continues for the city of Fort Lauderdale to approve minor changes to the plumbing layout. The revisions have been in for review for 8 days now and no end in sight. The plumbing cannot be inspected until the review is done.

Plumbing progress


The rough plumbing is in place and awaiting Building Dept approval of the drawing changes before inspection can take place. The building dept is currently at one week without approval.

Our Casa Bella I project is successfully out of the ground. The ground has been compacted, footers poured and the soil compacted again. The next phase is the slab but before that can be poured the architect must stamp a change to the plumbing isometric, get it approved by the city, the plumber can then run the underground pipes. In addition the electrician, compaction, soil test and termite treatment are required
